Pho Leo & Grill: Reviews & Ratings
One of the best pho places I’ve ever tried! The broth is rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced — not too salty, just right. The beef rib pho is super impressive — tender meat that falls off the bone, with fresh herbs and noodles cooked perfectly. The sizzling beef and meatball bánh mì are also must-tries — crispy bread, juicy meatballs, and a perfectly runny egg. The restaurant is clean, service is quick, and the staff are friendly. If you love authentic Vietnamese food, this place is a must-visit!
Restaurant is very nice and spacious. I was with 10 people and we were not squeezed in like other restaurants. The menu had a lot of options (not just pho and rice). They even have vegetarian options. Food was good and were big portions!! Drink that stood out to me was the dirty Thai Tea. Must try!
Finally tried this place after passing by it so many times since I usually stick to my go-to Vietnamese spot. I’m glad I stopped in because they offer dishes I don’t see at my regular place. The eggrolls came with two small pieces of lettuce and when I asked for extra, they were happy to bring more. The lemongrass beef stir-fry was tender, flavorful, and really well done. The servers were on top of everything, too.
I just moved to SD 3 months ago after living in SE Asia for 6 years. Pho Leo & Grill chefs exceeded my expectations today, with rich cultural flavor in ever bite. The place is new and is so clean you could eat off the floor. A 5 star dining experience at affordable prices. A nice gentleman by the name of Tan was very kind and attentive to my dinning needs. A must try! p.s. the Thai Tea is out of this world!!!
This is my new go-to place for vietnamese food. The restaurant itself is really spacious and what makes it stand out is the open concept grill center. It's really cool to watch the chef grill food while you're waiting. I ordered pho because its been raining and nothing is better than a bowl of pho on a rainy San Diego day. The broth was really good and the bowl was a very decent size. Service was amazing, food was great, and vibes were good. Can't wait to try all the other items on the menu.
Good, standard pho spot for a quick bite of pho. Thr noodles seemed a little softer than I would have liked, also more meat. The iced coffee came pre-made, Im more fond of the standard drip at the table and mix the condensed milk at the bottom of a cup filled with ice. The broth was very tasty and it smelled delicious from the moment it was set in front of me. Overall, pretty happy with my choices
Great place to get Vietnamese food in San Diego; I don’t normally eat Pho outside my house , but Pho Leo is expectational. Moreover, their grill pork is fantastic on rice, the broth on the side is great as well. Highly recommended if you are in the area.
A newly opened pho spot in Point Loma. The interior is large and very open. They have lots of seating available. The bathroom is clean as well. All the workers here are kind! For an appetizer we went with the Nem Nuong Goi Cuon, it came out with the slightly orange colored sauce. IYKYK. I found it a little thin and lacking flavor, but after adding some sriracha it was more tasty. The goi cuon was freshly made as the Nem Nuong was still hot. I wish they added some vermicelli noodles or daikon, but am happy with the amount of veggies that were paired with it- carrots, cucumber, lettuce, green onion (that flat one), beansprouts, & mint… since they cut it into four (two rolls) it was easier to share with the table. We also tried their $7, Dirty Thai Tea. I believe the dirty part refers to having espresso, or perhaps in their case— Vietnamese coffee added on top. I’m not exactly sure if we actually received it because it didn’t have much of a two tone color compared to other images I saw. Regardless, the drink was creamy and not too sweet. It was nice and cold and delicious! Then, we ordered Pho Ga and Pho Tai— I don’t know the exact name of it that we chose. But it had several other meats inside and we asked for the rare steak to be on the side. I thought it was going to be the usual thinly sliced meat, but it was actually very red. The waiter mentioned proudly that it was thinly sliced ribeye. If I’d known, I would have not asked for the rare meat to be on the side. While the broth was very hot, it wasn’t hot enough to cook the meat while I ate everything else. It was still quite pink as I finished up my noodles. By the way, the noodles were perfectly cooked!! For the broth, I would have liked a little more flavor from the spices, but overall not bad. They also gave us a large plate of beansprouts, pho basil, lime, etc. If I had to choose between the pho, I would order the pho ga again. It was piping hot and the chicken flavor was very prominent. The broth was clean, not overly salty, nor too sweet. They also have banh mi options, egg noodle soups, and rice dishes available to order. The drink menu also has che 3 mau, salty lemonade, and Vietnamese coffee! The price for three people, 2 pho, 1 app, and a specialty drink … was not too expensive! I would come here again.
